On the Campaign Trail with Julian Sturdy
April 24, 2015
Since the Dissolution of Parliament on the 30th March Julian has been out and about everyday campaigning across the constituency. Below is a brief overview of where Julian has been and who he has been campaigning alongside.
Strensall
Julian out canvassing with Cllr Paul Doughty in the Strensall Ward, where they have successfully called in the Council’s decision to approve development of the greenbelt at Brecks Lane to the Secretary of State, who recently threw the plans out.
Osbaldwick
Julian with Cllr Jenny Brooks, local election candidate Robin Dickson, and Conservative Council Group leader Chris Steward. Julian’s Control of Horses Bill, which has now become law, will empower local authorities to take swift action to protect neglected and illegally tethered horses across the country. It is an ongoing issue in the area and an example of how tackling local problems can result in changes to the law.
Haxby and Wiggington

Dringhouses and Woodthorpe
Julian was out in force with local election candidates Matt Freckelton and Matthew Litten and other local campaigners. They are fighting the proposed development south of Moor Lane, which would threaten the unique ecology of the nearby conservation area known as Askham Bog.
Dunnington
