International Women’s Day 2014
March 10, 2014
Julian was delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate International Women’s Day this week with Strensall resident and St Peters sixth form student, Beatrice Rhodes.
As part of this year’s ‘Inspiring Change’ theme Beatrice travelled to London to spend a day in Julian’s Westminster office. Following a team meeting, Beatrice joined other students on a tour of 10 Downing Street before spending the afternoon attending to Parliamentary Business with Julian and his staff, after which she rounded off the day by enjoying afternoon tea in the Speaker’s State Apartments.
Julian said “International Women’s Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate the social, political and economic achievement of women, but it also gives us the opportunity to determine which issues still need to be addressed. I hope that Beatrice now feels more inspired to take a leading role in shaping the nation’s future. From spending time with her it is very clear to me that she has a bright future ahead of her”.
