Julian to meet with Post Office to discuss Dringhouses branch closure.
January 17, 2018
Julian has called on the Post Office to provide an urgent update following the recent branch closure on Tadcaster Road.
The branch was unexpectedly closed before Christmas and it is now unclear whether it will reopen or be moved to another location.
Commenting, Julian said:
“It was disappointing news when the Tadcaster Road post office closed recently. Residents in Dringhouses will be wanting answers over the future of this vital community asset.
The lack of information provided by representatives of the Post Office since the closure has been disappointing, particularly over whether they are looking at reopening on Tadcaster Road or other nearby sites.
I have therefore secured an urgent meeting with the Post Office to push for assurances that all efforts are being made to reopen the Dringhouses branch at the earliest opportunity.
I would encourage any residents who are concerned about this matter to get in touch with me as I would be more than happy to pass their views on to the Post Office to make them aware of the strength of community feeling on this matter”.
Julian will also be able to provide residents with an update following his meeting with the Post Office. Residents can contact Julian at julian.sturdy.mp@parliament.uk.
