Julian Turns on New £1.5 million Sewer Connecting Copmanthorpe and Bishopthorpe

Julian has turned on a new sewer which runs between Copmanthorpe and Bishopthorpe, following a £1.5 million investment by Yorkshire Water.

The pipe, which ran parallel to the railway line, had burst a number of times in recent years. The completion of the new sewer pipe is very welcome as the problem of leaks should now be eliminated.

Following the visit Julian said, I very much enjoyed seeing first-hand the investment by Yorkshire Water to reduce the risk of sewer flooding between Bishopthorpe and Copmanthorpe by commissioning a new 2km pipe, which was previously prone to bursting.

“Key infrastructure like sewerage networks are often taken for granted until something goes wrong, and it is welcome that Yorkshire Water has undertaken this important work.”
