Julian meets with TIER and welcomes e-bikes to York
April 16, 2021
After a successful six months in our city, Julian met with representatives from Tier to test drive their e-scooters and learn about their plans for expansion within the city, which include the introduction of e-bikes. With an ever-expanding area of coverage and an fleet continually increasing in size, e-scooters and e-bikes offer a green alternative to inner-city car travel,
While many constituents may have concerns, Julian is in regular contact with TIER, who have already addressed issues for guide dogs, and is regularly provided with data relating to complaints. From over 20,000 rides, TIER have received few than 50 complaints and have acted swiftly to ban accounts of problem riders.
Following the meeting, Julian said:
” TIER have a lot of exciting plans in the works for York and I think they make a great addition to our city for tourists and residents looking for an alternative mode of transport.
I’ve been impressed by how TIER have engaged with stakeholders to address any concerns and I’m happy to pass on any comments from constituents being confident TIER will engage constructively with residents.
It is fantastic to see York leading the way by adopting e-scooters and I look forward to seeing TIER’s network expand across our city boosting connectivity.”
