Updated Lockdown Guidelines

April 12, 2021

From today, there has been a further easing of lockdown restrictions as we enter step two of the Prime Minister’s roadmap meaning:

  • Non-essential retail will reopen.
  • Hairdressers and barbers can reopen.
  • Gyms and indoor swimming pools can reopen.
  • Pubs, restaurants, bars and cafes can reopen serving customers outside. Venues can also offer takeaway alcoholic drinks again.
  • Libraries, museums and zoos can reopen.
  • Self-contained accommodation can reopen, but only for guests from the same household.

Household mixing indoors is still not allowed.

Full details are available here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-response-spring-2021/covid-19-response-spring-2021-summary#step-2—not-before-12-april

The next easing of lockdown measures will be Step 3 of the Road Map, which will be from no earlier than May 17 when household mixing indoors will be allowed and hospitality businesses can serve indoors.
