Local Coronavirus Update
May 6, 2021
Following a rain filled Bank Holiday weekend, the days when hospitality businesses can open indoors can’t come soon enough. May will also see a boost to our local vaccine supply which should see vaccination centre stay on course to hit all targets to the end of July.
In the Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership, which stretches across North Yorkshire to North Lincolnshire, 1,389,197 doses had been administered as of Monday. In York, 58% of the adult population has now received a first dose and 27.1% of the adult population are fully vaccinated having received two doses (as of May 2).
Nationally, one in four adults have now received two doses of a Covid vaccine while in York our case rate remains low. Today also saw the announcement that 150 people in York will take part in trials for a new vaccine.
If you are over 40, you get a Carer’s Allowance, get support following an assessment by your local authority, your GP record shows you are a carer, you have a learning disability or you are classed as clinically vulnerable, then you can book a vaccine appointment online: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/
