Letter to Hospitality Businesses

March 14, 2021

This week Julian wrote to hospitality businesses across the constituency to ask for their views on the Prime Minister’s roadmap for easing lockdown and the support announced in the Budget to help inform his lobbying efforts going forward.

If you have not received a letter or are not currently accessing your premises, and you operate a hospitality business within York Outer, please find below a copy of his letter.

After sending the letters, Julian said “The hospitality sector is crucial to York’s economy and it is important that businesses receive sufficient support to ensure they are poised ready to bounce back as lockdown is lifted. Furthermore, restrictions must be eased in sufficient increments that it is viable for businesses to actually open and generate a profit.

This year has been difficult for everyone, with no sector having to cope with a plethora of ever changing rules and regulations more so than hospitality businesses. With the end of the pandemic in sight though, I have faith in the incredible enterprises in our towns and villages to bounce back as well as in local residents to go the extra mile to show our cafes, restaurants and pubs the support they deserve. “
