Julian writes to Pubs, Cafes and Restaurants in York Outer to ask what they need to Support Re-Opening
June 19, 2020
Julian has written to pubs, cafes and restaurants across the constituency to ask what measures they would like to see the Government implement ahead of the expected announcement next week regarding the July 4 easing of lockdown measures for the hospitality sector.
As a popular tourist destination, many jobs in York rely on a strong hospitality trade and it is clear that adaptions will have to be made to ensure many businesses are commercially viable.
One of the key areas that Julian has been focusing on is to have social distancing measures reviewed to bring them in line with our European neighbours and World Health Organisation advice.
Julian has also been in contact with those who supply the hospitality industry such as breweries and commercial food producers to ask them what support they require.
Julian is committed to ensuring that local business receive the support they need to safely reopen, recover and thrive.
