Julian welcomes Levelling Up Minister to York Central teardrop site

Julian welcomed the Secretary of State of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove MP, to York to discuss the potential of the York Central regeneration project.

The York Central teardrop site is being supported by £77 million worth of Government investment via Network Rail and Homes England to enable vital infrastructure to connect the site, including a bridge over the East Coast mainline railway. 

Speaking with Michael Gove MP, Julian highlighted:

“York Central will deliver more homes, more jobs and grow York’s economy by 20%. Alongside the Roman Quarter, Coney Street and Castle Gateway, the regeneration of the York Central teardrop site will transform our city.

I’m glad to see the Government back our ambitions and we will continue to work hard to deliver for York as only the Conservatives can maximise the potential of the York Central project”
