Julian wears it pink for breast cancer fundraiser

September 14, 2017

Julian has dressed in pink to lend his support to Breast Cancer Now’s flagship fundraiser, ‘wear it pink’, which will see thousands of people across the UK adding a splash of pink to their outfits on Friday 20th October to help raise vital funds for breast cancer research.

Julian encourages his constituents to join him in supporting women and men who have been diagnosed with breast cancer by signing up to take part in the UK’s biggest pink fundraiser. The event is now in its 16th year and will take place during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To date, it has raised an incredible £30 million for Breast Cancer Now’s life-saving research.

Anyone can take part in ‘wear it pink’ so it is a good way of bringing the community together and having some fun. All you need to do is put on something pink and make a donation to Breast Cancer Now. By doing this, you will help bring us one step closer to our goal of making sure that by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live.

Commenting Julian said, “Breast cancer is now the most common cancer in the UK. One in eight women will develop breast cancer at some point in their life, and nearly 12,000 people lose their lives to the disease every year in the UK. This is why I am so passionate about everyone in York Outer taking part in ‘wear it pink’ on Friday 20th October.”

To take part in wear it pink this October, please visit wearitpink.org/2017 for further details, fundraising ideas and how to register for your free fundraising pack.
