Julian visits York Hospital’s Children’s Wards

Julian visited York Hospital to meet with Dr Abbey, Clinical Director for Paediatrics, to walk down to the Children’s Wards to see the high level of care given to local children.
Julian is extremely supportive and thankful for all the work that doctors, nurses and all staff do at York Hospital so he was grateful of the opportunity to meet face-to-face to pass on his regards, especially for their efforts during the pandemic.
One issue that came out of the meeting is that currently waiting time targets are the same for adult and paediatric patients. Julian was concerned to learn this as issues not resolved in youth can have a major impact on development. He reassured staff that he would raise this with the Department of Health and Social Care.
