Julian meets with Minister for Rail to discuss Copmanthorpe Level Crossing

September 7, 2023

Julian met with the Minister for Rail, Huw Merriman MP, to discuss the upcoming inquiry regarding Copmanthorpe Level Crossing and raise concern that Network Rail decisions were being made with a very short term point of view to save money now at the expense of a larger bill later.

Julian is firmly backing the local community and pressing for a ramped footbridge that would be accessible to all. He continues to lobby Network Rail and will be appearing at the inquiry next month.

Julian also used this opportunity to directly pass on concerns about the closure of ticket offices with the Minister and ask him to thoroughly reexamine the case for closures as well as review the consultation responses.
