Julian meets LNER at York Railway Station to discuss ticket office closures

While the ticket office at York Railway Station is not earmarked for closure, Julian met with LNER this week to raise concerns of constituents.

The consultation on ticket office closures has closed and it is clear the strength of feeling from the public due to the hundreds of thousands of submissions.

A main concern is that without ticket offices, the railways will become even more inaccessible as many cannot use ticket machines and roaming assistance may not be on hand when needed.

Julian met with the Minister of Rail earlier in the week and asked him to reexamine the case for ticket office closures as well as review the submissions to the consultation from York constituents.
