It has been a jam-packed couple of weeks since my last column where I had an opportunity to reflect on the Chancellor’s Budget. I want to begin by highlighting the fantastic news that inflation has dropped to 3.4 per cent – the lowest in two and a half years. When the Prime Minister came to

Julian Launches Campaign for Re-election in York Outer

March 30, 2015

On Saturday, Julian officially launched his election campaign in Haxby, with his wife Victoria and his daughter Florence, alongside local campaigners.

Julian has worked tirelessly representing his constituents in York Outer and hopes to be able to champion local interests and needs for another 5 years.

As the election campaign kicks into gear Julian will be seen in all communities of York Outer. He has a crystal clear 6 point plan for York:

1. Protecting York’s greenbelt is Julian’s first priority. He wants to see a sustainable Local Plan which balances local housing needs with the need to protect our countryside.

2. Julian will continue his campaign to secure fairer health funding for York and North Yorkshire to ensure that our ageing and rural population have equal access to treatments.

3. He will also seek a permanent solution to York’s transport and congestion issues, as our city is grinding to a steady halt.

4. Julian will continue to be accessible to all, regardless of the issue or political persuasion, and has hosted hundreds of advice surgeries and public meetings over the past few years.

5. Bridging the digital divide remains a key priority. He is determined to see Government investment in broadband infrastructure connect our most rural communities.

6. If re-elected Julian will vote to end the wind farm folly and stop the lucrative taxpayer subsidies for onshore wind turbines, which disadvantage other forms of renewable energy.

Following his campaign launch Julian said, “I am delighted to kick off my campaign for re-election today and am thoroughly looking forward to meeting more constituents on the doorstep.

“If re-elected I will remain accessible to all and continue to stick to my principles: Sensible development, a strong local NHS and improved transport and broadband infrastructure. It is absolutely vital that we finish the job we started in Government; eliminating the deficit, getting Britain back to work, and strengthening our economy so we can carry on cutting taxes and increasing investment in our NHS. ”
