Julian hails new Cystic Fibrosis medicine announcement

“I have represented a number of local residents over several years who are either Cystic Fibrosis patients or family of patients in lobbying the government and the manufacturer Vertex on expanding access to the best treatments by making the Orkambi drug available, a decision that was taken in October.
I am delighted by today’s news that this will now be supplemented by Kaftrio from Vertex, a change that will benefit households in York Outer and an estimated 9 in 10 Cystic Fibrosis patients nationwide. This suggests a real commitment from the NHS and government to ensuring a comprehensive approach to this condition.
I remain ready to aid constituents who have any further questions on the implementation of plans to provide this medicine, and will keep a watch on further developments.”
