Energy bills savings advice from Citizens Advice York
January 17, 2018
York’s Citizens Advice service is organising a series of events to help people save money on their energy bills this winter. Julian would encourage any local residents with questions in this area to consider attending.
Citizens Advice York is inviting residents to bring along their bills to a series of local events to ‘check, switch, save’ on their gas and electricity. On average, people who switch suppliers save £230 a year.
The next sessions are at the Oaken Grove Community Centre, Haxby on Tuesday 30th January, 10:30am-1pm, and The Hub, Ellerbys Restaurant, York Hospital, on Tuesday 6 February, 11am -2pm.
Residents will be able to receive help in identifying the best energy supplier for them, advice and tips on energy saving, and information on whether they are eligible to benefit from energy saving measures and support, such as Council grants for cavity wall and loft insulation.
York Citizens Advice also holds regular drop-in sessions for advice on energy saving:
– Bell Farm Social Hall, Roach Avenue, every Tuesday 10am – 1.00pm
– Sanderson Court, Bramham Road, Chapelfields every Thursday 9.00am – 12.00 noon
– St Luke’s Community Cafe, Burton Stone Lane, Clifton every Friday 10.30am -12.30pm
